Buy Quantum Ecodex Timber Finish

Quantum Ecodex is a fast drying oil based finish, designed to protect timber from the elements. When you buy Ecodex in Melbourne, you are buying a product that is environmentally responsible, being made from bio based, ecologically sustainable products. As a water repellent product, Ecodex is popular in Australia and applied mainly on exterior decking and walkways. We have chosen to be an Ecodex supplier because of the durable and environmental qualities it offers, and the fact that Ecodex prices are both reasonable and affordable.

We recommend applying Ecodex using a brush or roller. It should only be applied when temperatures are between 16°C and 30°C. It is advisable that at least 3 to 4 hours is allowed between each coat, with the first coat usually taking between 4 to 6 hours to dry. All subsequent coats usually take between 3 to 4 hours to dry in 20°C temperatures and no more than average humidity. In total, 3 to 4 coats are recommended, based on how much sun exposure the applied area will be receiving.

Dried Dressed Timber

Referred to as the premium in timber finishes, Dried Dressed Timber is a timber that has been dressed on all sides, resulting in a smooth finish that makes it easy to apply coatings. It is dried after treatment to reduce shrinkage, and can be machined to exact specification, within millimeters. Overall, dried dressed timber offers an attractive and finished look, and is useful where aesthetics matter. It is ideal for building decks, outdoor areas, and pergolas.

Dried Laser Pine/Rougher...

Sometimes referred to as Rougher Header, Dried Laser Pine is a timber that has been machined with serrated knives to a specific gauge size, resulting in a finish that is smoother than Wet Sawn Timber, but more textured than Dried Dressed Timber. The Laser Pine is then dried after treatment to reduce shrinkage and can be cut to exact specification, within millimeters. The entire process of crafting this timber results in the minimisation of splinters, and makes it significantly easier to coat the wood in paint. Laser Pine is useful for building decks, outdoor areas, and pergolas.

Wet Sawn Timber

Our sustainable cuts of Wet Sawn Timber are cut from logs into different shapes and sizes. Wet Sawn timber that has been refers to timber that has been sawn, dried prior to treatment but not after the treatment. This creates the most "raw" or "rustic" of all timber finishes. Ideal for solid timber beams and rectangular timber sections, this is a solid timber that can be painted without any more treatment.
