Paling fencing is the type of fence typically used to define fence boundaries on residential properties. Paling fencing is available in several different heights, with the most common being 1.6m (or five foot six inches) and 1.9m (or Six foot six inches) in height. Fence heights available are: 1.6m, 1.9m, 2.2m, and 2.5m.
Paling fencing is usually sold as a complete package. Fence packages are priced per meter and work out cheaper as a package lot, rather than purchasing the individual items. We will supply your fence entirely in treated pine unless other wise stated.
So what do I receive
when I purchase a fence package?
As mentioned, fencing is sold by the meter, so for every meter
of fence, this includes:
3 x 75x50mm fence rails, 1 x 150x25mm plinth board, 5 x 100x12mm
palings, 5 x 150x12mm palings, and one 125x75mm post for every
2.7metres of fence that you are building. All posts supplied
will be 500mm longer than the specified height of the fence.
I.e. your hole will be 500mm deep.
What else will I require?
You may require what we refer to
as a “starting post”. This is in the case that
you do not have an existing fence (or other structure) to
attach to, and is normally one post per fence line. You may
also require cement, this should be calculated at one 20kg
bag per hole (recommended). You will also require nails. Depending
on the method of nailing, (hand nailing or gun nailing) you
will require nails to suit. We recommend that you hand nail
your fence, this is a far more reliable way of ensuring your
fixings are adequate. Either method definitely requires hot
dipped galvanized nails or screws in treated pine. You may
also elect, as a decorative finish you install a “fence
capping” rail to the top of your fence. Fence cappings
are quite an appealing look and also help to prevent water
from penetrating your timber fence. Caution:
if you are considering a fence capping, you will need to build
your fence to suit the capping! If
you will not be picking your fence order up yourself from
our sales facility, a delivery charge will apply. Delivery
charges vary depending on your requirements. Our sales staff
will quote you on the delivery rate.

| Picket fencing is commonly used for front fences, or display fencing. There are many different styles of picket fencing; rise and fall pickets, straight line pickets, pickets that form an arch ect ect. The most common type of picket profile is the “Windsor top” picket. This is our stock line. If you would like a different shape picket, or wish to match an existing profile we are able to manufacture these to order. Prices for special picket orders depend on quantity and shape. | ![]() |
Picket
end section size is 70x20mm. Pickets are available in the following lengths: .900m, 1.2m, 1.5m, 1.8m, 2.1m and 2.4 metres in length. Pickets are normally spaced at 20mm, or the thickness of one picket. Always ensure that you pre drill your pickets prior to nailing or screwing (galvanized screws are recommended, 2 per fixing point), this will prevent your timber from splitting. | Turned top posts are
a very complementary way of building your picket fence.
Turned top posts are posts that include a post and a capitol
top all in one. Turned top posts are available in the
following end sections: 90x90mm, 120x120mm and 140x140mm
square. Lengths are: 1.5m, 1.8m, 2.1m, 2.4m, 2.7m and
3.0m long. The turned top posts you select should be 600mm
longer than the length of the picket you intend to use.
E.g. A 900mm picket, would require a 1.5 meter long turned
top post. Turned top posts are available with either Windsor
top, or ball top. Please refer to price list for pricing information |
